Buying from another European Amazon store

The same Amazon account works everywhere

Amazon.fr, .de, .it and .es accept your usual Amazon login: no need for a new account. Your addresses and payment methods carry over.

Most of these sites can be shown in English: the language choice is at the top of the page, next to the flag.

Prime is tied to one country: a Prime membership in one country does not necessarily give free delivery on the others.

Delivery: check before you pay

Prices shown on Safqio do not include delivery. Many products sold and shipped by Amazon can be delivered across the EU, but not all: some third-party sellers only ship within their own country.

Select your delivery address before ordering: the product page then shows whether it ships to you, the delivery cost and the delivery time, often a few days longer than at home.

VAT: the final price may move slightly

When delivering to another EU country, Amazon usually charges that country's VAT. A price shown with German (19%), French (20%), Spanish (21%) or Italian (22%) VAT may therefore change slightly at checkout.

The exact amount appears on the checkout page, before you confirm the order.

Returns and warranty

The 14-day right of withdrawal applies throughout the European Union, and Amazon usually gives longer. Return conditions (label, possible costs) are shown in your account, order by order.

The 2-year legal guarantee of conformity applies whichever EU country you buy from. For products sold by Amazon, the seller is the same company on all four sites: Amazon EU S.à r.l., in Luxembourg.

The manufacturer's own warranty may depend on the country: check it for expensive products.

Keyboards, plugs, manuals: the usual traps

Laptops and keyboards follow the country's layout: QWERTZ in Germany, AZERTY in France, Italian or Spanish QWERTY. The system language can be changed, but the printed keys cannot.

German, French and Spanish plugs usually fit each other's sockets. Some Italian products have a plug with three pins in a row and need an adapter elsewhere.

Manuals and packaging are often multilingual, but not always in your language. Most devices offer several menu languages.

What about the United Kingdom?

Amazon.co.uk is outside the European Union: import VAT, customs duties and clearance fees may be added, and the British plug needs an adapter. That is why Safqio shows it for information only and never ranks it as the cheapest.

In short

  1. Open the offer from Safqio and sign in with your usual account.
  2. Select your delivery address.
  3. Check delivery, delivery time and the final price on the checkout page.
  4. Compare with the price at home: if the difference is still in your favour, order.
