Methodology

Where do the prices come from?

From Keepa, a service that tracks Amazon prices. Each price shown carries the time it was fetched.

A price is reused for 24 hours at most. After that, it is refreshed when someone opens the page.

Prices in pounds are converted to euros at the ECB (European Central Bank) rate of the day.

How do you choose the deals?

They are spotted on amazon.fr, by category, with at most 50 deals per category.

We only keep a real price drop: the current price has been stable for at least 24 hours (no flash sales). The drop is measured against the average price of the last 7 days.

Older deals stay in an archive for 30 days, and are labelled as such.

How are products ranked?

First by user ratings (1 to 5 stars), using a weighted average. A product with few reviews starts from a neutral rating of 3/5. This way, a single 5-star review does not beat a product highly rated by many people.

Then by the size of the price drop.

What role does artificial intelligence play?

An AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) reviews the deals. It drops uninteresting products, spots gift ideas, sorts products into seasonal picks and writes short taglines.

It also suggests the seasonal picks (Halloween, Black Friday, advent calendar…).

It never changes a price. Each decision is recorded with its reason and can be corrected by hand.

Why is the United Kingdom separate?

The United Kingdom has been outside the EU since Brexit: import VAT and customs duties may apply on delivery.

Its price is shown for information only, never presented as the best price.

Can prices change?

Yes, Amazon changes them often. The price that counts is the one shown on Amazon at the time of purchase.
